Otis William Mitchell

Otis William Mitchell, 78 of Abingdon, VA, formerly of Bluefield, VA, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Abingdon Manor. Born in Dryfork, VA, he was the son of the late Arthur Walton and Earrie Johnson Mitchell. Otis and Flo, (his wife of 25 years plus), were the owner/ operator of Cottons Drive-In for over 30 years. He was a legendary coon hunter, a pool hustler and had been known to engage in a parking lot scuffle. Otis was an avid sports fan, including the Graham G-Men. He loved and looked forward to his yearly fishing trips with Flo and Jr. He will be sadly missed by the “Cotton’s Crowd”. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Nancy Louise “Flo” Mitchell; sisters: Rosa, Alma, Maybelle and Alice; brothers: Arthur Jr, Thomas, Roy Lee and James “Jay” Mitchell.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son: Otis Mitchell, Jr and wife, Samantha of Mabscott, WV; sister: Mary Jane Brewster of Bluefield, VA; grandson: Baby Alex; an extended family of nieces and nephews.
