Mr. McKinney was born in Simpsonville to the late Clarence Clement McKinney and Margaret Louise Hughes McKinney. He retired as the owner of McKinney Heating & Air and was a member of Simpsonville United Methodist Church. He was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps. Morris was a patriot at heart, and served honorably with the 364th FS, 357th FG. He flew a total of 74 missions, 301 hours in the P-51 Mustang aircraft. All were flown in "Round Trip" and "Round Trip Jr." He flew two long missions on D-Day. He had a life-long passion for flying and aircraft. He also enjoyed turkey hunting and fishing with his grandsons. He was a member of the Fountain Inn American Legion.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his son, Stan McKinney and wife Miriam; two sisters, Florine Boiter and Jamie O'Connell; two grandsons, Brockman McKinney and Austin McKinney; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a step-mother, Bessie Templeton McKinney.
The family would like to acknowledge the loyal caregivers, most especially Demetria Barksdale.
Funeral services, with Military Honors, were held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Simpsonville United Methodist Church. Graveside services were held at Graceland East Cemetery with family members attending.
