AGE: 85 Medford

Alma May Blair, (nee Stankovich), age 85, of Medford, passed away on Monday, Feb. 21, 2011 at Hamilton Place at the Pines at Whiting.

Mrs. Blair was born in Newark and was formerly of Denville. She was a summer and weekend resident of Forked River from 1952 to 1975 when she moved there permanently until 2004 when she moved to Medford.

Mrs. Blair had served as a Special Police Officer for 12 years with the Denville Police Department of Denville. She had been a communicant of St. Pius X RC Church of Forked River, a member of the Lacey Garden Club and the Telephone Pioneers of America, past president of the Lacey Seniors, past president of the Lacey AARP, founding member and past secretary and chair person of the Lacey Juvenile Conference Committee with 24 years of service, member of the Lacey Senior Advisory Committee with 23 years of service, a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla's #78 & 79 of Forked River, she had served on the Senior Advisory Committee of Ocean County with 16 years of service, member of the Hungarian Club of Whiting, she had also served on the Recreation Committee and American Disability Act Committee both of Forked River.

Mrs. Blair was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Frank J. in 2001. Surviving are her two daughters, Shirleyann and her husband Thomas Livesey of Medford and Judith May and her husband Chris Flores of Placentia, CA; one son, Frank A.J. & his wife Hollie Blair of Henderson, NV. Also surviving are six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 9:30 am at St. Pius X RC Church, Forked River. Interment shall follow at B/G William C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. A Viewing will be held on Thursday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm at the Riggs Funeral Home, 130 Route 9 North, Forked River.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sol Amor Hospice, 1415 Hooper Ave., Suite #203, Toms River, NJ 08753 in her memory.
