Lawrence "Larry" F. McKibben, 72, of Leavenworth, KS died February 18, 2005 at the Dwight D. Eisenhower VA Nursing home, in Leavenworth, KS. Larry was born August 30, 1932 in Hannibal, Missouri to Lawrence and Lena McKibben. At 10, he moved to Kansas City, Missouri. After graduating from De La Salle High School in 1950, he served seven years in the U.S. Marine Corp. Before retiring in 1988, he was a partner of K&M Sales, a manufacturing rep company. Larry then sold specialty advertising for Ad Craft. Larry and his family moved to Leavenworth in 1971. He was active in the Lansing High Booster Club and Leavenworth Country Club. Larry and his wife operated the Santa Surplus Store and Fireworks stands for many years. He loved hunting, fishing, traveling and the Chiefs. Larry is survived by his wife, Nancy, of 45 years.; Sisters: Mary Roberts and husband William, Wichita, KS; Rita Crutcher and husband Jim, Citrus Heights, CA; Sons: Lawrence and wife Bianca, St. Louis, MO; Kevin and wife Suzanne, Roseville, CA; Grant and wife Melinda, Leavenworth, KS; Daughter: Nicole Murdock and husband David, Gardner, KS and 12 Grandchildren: Loraine, Francis, Cheroyl, Jane, Molly, Patrick, Jake, Jessica, Kathleen, Valeria, Holly and Blake. Larry was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane Ann (1957) and daughter, Kitty (1971). Visitation will be Friday, February 25 from 6-8pm at the Davis Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth. Rosary at 7:30pm at the Chapel. Mass will be Saturday, February 26 at 10am at the Leavenworth VA Holy Ghost Catholic Chapel. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Overland Park. Contributions may be made to the Heart of America Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers.
