He was the husband of Mary Garvey, of 49, Fosbrook Street, Boughton, Chester. He was a Private in the Cheshire Regiment. He was transferred to (30312) Royal Defence Corps. He served in the Burma and South African Campaigns. He died of wounds caused by gas, aged 50 yrs. He was buried on the 6th July 1917.
He is commemorated on St Werburgh's Roman Catholic Church War Memorial, Chester.
