Joan Mooney, 84, of Frankfort, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at Wesley Manor Retirement Community.

She was born November 21, 1931, in Martinsville, to John Harley and Altha Craven Mulder. Joan married Charles LeRoy Mooney; he preceded her in death.

Joan attended Colfax High School and later attained her GED. Throughout her life, Joan worked at Unielectric, P.R. Mallory, and Milky Way, and cleaned houses. She attended Colfax Christian Church and Colfax Methodist Church.

Surviving Joan are three children, Joyce Troxel of Lafayette, Stephen A. (Debbie) Gant of Russellville, and Michael E. (Anita) Gant of Lebanon; three step-children, Charles (Teresa) Mooney Jr. of Russiaville, and Tim Mooney and Tina Mooney, both of Kokomo; brothers, Jack Lee Mulder of Tell City, Frank Henry Mulder of California, and Ralph Jerry Mulder of Lafayette; sisters, Maxine Coffman of Arizona, Verna Lou Freels of Lafayette, and Beverly Irene Kinkead of Sheridan; six grandchildren, and seven step-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Joan is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Delores Rose Price.

Visitation for Joan will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 1:00 p.m. to the start of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Chuck Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in Middlefork Cemetery.
