Mrs. Austin's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, at Forbis & Dick Stokesdale with Pastor Mike Baynes officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Wesleyan Church Cemetery.
A native of Henry County, Virginia, Mrs. Austin was born on June 6, 1947, the daughter of the late George and Meldia Copeland Crum. She attended Full Gospel Worship Center in Summerfield and had worked in the catering business.
To know Nancy was to love her. She was a loving wife, wonderful mother and awesome Nanny! Her friends and family will miss her kind, sweet spirit.
Surviving are her husband Ronnie Austin of the home; daughters Elizabeth Sutherland (Jimmy) of Roanoke, Va. and Donna Haynes (Jeff) of Pine Hall; sister Deborah Jean Hale and brother Gary Hankins both of Bassett, Va; 3 grandchildren Virginia Poynter, Jeffrey Haynes and Heather Haynes; and 3 great grandchildren Levi, Christine, and Isaac.
The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 9:30 until the service hour at the funeral home.
In appreciation for the loving care and attention shown to Mrs. Austin and her family, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.
