Susan M. McGuire
1959 ~ 2016
Susan Marie Manning McGuire, 56, returned home to her Heavenly Father on February 9, 2016 as a result of complications following a surgery. Sue was born April 23, 1959 in Muncie Indiana to William and Eloise Manning, and was the fifth of eight children. Sue's parents preceded her in death, and were surely first in line, just behind the Savior, to greet their beloved Susie. Sue moved from Indiana to Southern California in 1979 where she met her husband Scott Jack McGuire. Sue and Scott were married on September 20, 1980 and had two beautiful children, Christopher and Danielle. Sue joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the age of 23 and was sealed to her husband and children for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple. They moved to Bountiful Utah in 1990.
Sue had an unshakable testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She served in many church callings, including: Primary and Relief Society presidencies, young women's advisor, primary instructor and ward chorister. What Sue loved most in life was her family. She had eight grandchildren and would light-up at the mere thought of them. Sue worked as a legal assistant and truly loved her job and the people she worked with for the last sixteen years.
Sue leaves behind her husband Scott; two children and their spouses: Christopher and Joanna (Allred) McGuire, Danielle (McGuire) and Rob Henriksen; eight grandchildren (by age): Liam Henriksen, Lance Henriksen, Makenna McGuire, Lincoln Henriksen, Breanna McGuire, Lars Henriksen, Caitlyn McGuire and London Henriksen; four sisters and three brothers: Mark, Shelly, Melanie, Camille, Tommy, Theresa and Chris and their spouses and families; and many McGuire in-laws and their spouses and families.
Although you have left us with a huge void, the Atonement fills us with faith and hope for the day we will embrace again in joy as an eternal family!
Memorial services will be held at the LDS Chapel at 67 West Clay Park Drive, Murray on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 11am, with a viewing prior from 10-10:45am. Further, there will be a viewing at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary at 4760 South State Street, Murray on Friday, February 12, 2016 from 7-9pm. Interment: Lakeview Memorial Cemetery.
