Billy Gene Byford, 87, of Olney, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Billy was born August 13, 1928 in Olney, the son of Mart and Fern (Hayes) Byford. He married Lillie Helpingstine on November 11, 1950. She preceded him in death on August 23, 1996.

Billy was a self-employed businessman for over 30 years in the oil products distribution industry. He served in the Army Air Corps, stationed in Dakar and also in Germany. Billy was a member of the Olney Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed motorcycle riding and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, Mart Byford and wife Konni of St. Louis, MO; Son, William Byford and wife Donita of Olney; Grandchildren, Matthew Byford and Leah (Steve) Davis, and Michael Byford and Riley Byford; Great Grandchild, Jackson Davis; Sister, Louise Prescott; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
