Rachel Jones Blackwell, 95, of Columbus passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at home. She was the daughter of the late Otis and Ella Giles Jones and wife of the late Major Blackwell.

She was a member of Green Creek First Baptist Church, Secretary of Sunday School for 35 years and a homemaker.

She is survived by a daughter, Renee Blackwell; two grandchildren, Kerry McSwain(Wanda), Marla Searcy; four great grandchildren, Benjamin Searcy(Johnna), Brandon Searcy(Cristina), Andrew McSwain(Ashley), Leah Laster(Donald) and seven great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 1:00-2:00pm Friday, February 12, 2016 at Green Creek First Baptist Church. Services will follow at 2:00at the church conducted by Rev. Carrol Page and Rev. Allen McKinney. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
