On April 28, 1951 he married Arlene Lessard at St. Peter Church, Antioch. Lou proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and enjoyed photography, was a good golfer, and was a past member of the Antioch Lions Club. He served as an IL State Trooper for many years and later retired as Regional Sales Manager from Fansteel, Inc.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene; two children, Cheri (Eddie) Slack-Schemenski of Woodbury, NJ and Paul (Ayla Rana) of Issaquah, WA; son-in-law, Rick Hickmann; and six grandchildren, Sam (Melissa), Jonathan (Jessica), Brett, Ashley, Jason and Ian.
In addition to his parents, Lou was preceded in death by a daughter, Lonna Crawford Hickmann, a son, Mark Crawford; three brothers, Alonzo “Lonnie”, Edward, and Thomas Crawford, and a sister, Angeline Ross.
Visitation for Lou will begin at 4PM Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83). Funeral services with military honors will commence at 7PM.
