Ruby Nell Fisher, 80, of San Angelo, passed away Friday, February 5, 2016, at Shannon Medical Center surrounded by family. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, February 7, 2016, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, February 8, 2016, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel, with David Smith pastor of Word of Life Assembly of God officiating. Burial will take place in the Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
Ruby was born in Norman Park, Georgia, to the late Thomas and Jewel Watkins. She worked as a beautician for the San Angelo State School for 16 years. She spent her life serving God by helping others while taking on the role of mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was a hard worker, creative spirit, and loved greatly by all.
Ruby was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas Watkins, Jr. and Hubert Watkins; and sister, Sue Jones.
Survivors include her daughters: Susanne Fisher and Jody Wolfe, of San Angelo, and Sandy Poelstra and husband, Phil, of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Abram McNeal and wife, Stacia, of Lakeside Village, TX, and Paige and Lexie Wolfe, of Oklahoma City, OK; great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Weston McNeal, of Lakeside Village, TX; sister-in-law, Corine Watkins, of Plant City, FL; brother-in-law, Moe Jones, of Booneville, AR; along with many other relatives and friends.
