MARION DERR (CUMMINGS) WOLLAM

Marion Derr Wollam was born on February 5, 1922 in Vancouver, Washington to Howard and Beula Cummings. Marion spent her youth and primary school years in View, Washington. She attended and graduated from Woodland High School in 1940 in Woodland, Washington.

Marion met and married Thomas Earl Wollam in 1941. Together they spent the next 39 years in Clark County, Washington, where they owned and operated Mountain View Dairy and Pioneer Nursery until she was widowed by an untimely accident. Thomas and Marion had three children, Craig Michael Wollam, Terry Leigh Wollam, and Roxann Sue Wollam Richards.

During her years in Clark County, Washington, Marion was the president of the Clark County Dairy Wives Association, and the Wollam family was voted the Dairy Family of the year in 1961. The family was also long time members of the local Grange.

In 1989 Marion married Joseph Conrad Spady and resumed residence in Vancouver, Washington. Marion and Joseph remained married until Joseph passed away in 2000. They spent their years together traveling the world visiting and touring many foreign countries. They enjoyed their recreational vehicle and vacation in Yuma, Arizona in the winter months returning to Vancouver, Washington in the Spring.

Marion attended Summit View Church in Vancouver, Washington since it's beginning 22 years ago.

Marion was survived by her brother Gerald Cummings currently residing in South Carolina; her sister, Evelyn Doris Buck, passed away due to natural causes on February 6, 2016 at the age of 100. Marion is survived by three children, eight grandchildren, and 13 great-grand- children who will miss her very much.

Marion was loved by all who knew her, always taking interest in their lives, providing help and guidance.

She will be missed by all!

A Memorial service was held for Marion Derr Wollam on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Summit View Church, 7701 NE 182nd Ave., Vancouver, Washington. Light refreshments were served after the service.

Charitable donations can be made in Marion's name to Open House Ministries in Vancouver, Washington or Summit View Church in Vancouver, Washington in a fund to be used to provide for families in need.
