Ruth Marie Grabb went to her eternal home on February 7, 2016. She is peacefully resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior. She was 97 years old - or as she often told us, "I'm almost 100".

She was born on March 20, 1918 in Kingsville, MO to Albert and Minnie Williams. She was raised in the Kansas City area and graduated from Northeast High School.

Ruth met her husband, George Grabb while working at Sears. They were married 56 years. George and Ruth were blessed with three children, Bill, Larry and Kathy Anne. Ruth loved her family. She would often make the statement, "that she loved her family too much". She loved being surrounded by her family. She faithfully prayed for her family members for many years at bedtime, naming each person as she prayed. It was very important to her that all of her family know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. In recent years she found great peace and comfort saying prayers with her granddaughters on the telephone at bedtime.

She loved flowers and traveling. She had iris in her garden from all over the world. She went on many tours with Richard's Fun Time Tours and traveled extensively all over the world. She also enjoyed "little adventures" such as exploring country roads, or simply riding along with her children and grandchildren were running errands. Ruth lived a very long and full life. She loved walks with her beloved Scottie dog, Luci. Even into her 80's she participated in water aerobics and would occasionally shoot a few hoops on the basketball court at the local YMCA.

She was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Bible Church and served as the Sunday School Secretary for many years.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, George Grabb, parents Albert and Minne Williams, brother Elbert Williams, sisters Myrtle Cooper, Marjorie Willhoit, Betty Klamm and her beloved Luci.

She is survived by her children, William H. Grabb (Lea Anne), Lawrence P. Grabb (Debbie) and Kathy Anne Dunbar (Tim). She is survived by 7 grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren and 19 great- great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sarah, the E.R. nurse at St. Luke's East Hospital and to Jennifer, the nurse at St. Luke's Hospice House for the exceptional love and care they provided for Mom during her final hours here on earth. They took care of her as if they were caring for their own Mother. The family will forever be grateful to them and they will live in our hearts forever.

Ruth's life will be formally celebrated on Thursday, February 11 at Mount Moriah, Newcomer and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO. The visitation is at 12:00 P.M. with the service at 1:00 P.M. Graveside service to follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
