Willis Hunt Jr. was a yacht broker. He was the only son of Willis Gustavus Hunt and Miriam Eskridge Hunt. On July 4, 1940 he married actress Carole Landis (they divorced in November of 1940). He married his fifth wife, former actress Deannie Best, in 1965. During an argument in December of 1969 Willis was stabbed to death by Deannie. She claimed self-defense and was found innocent of all charges.
