Billy Duran Mize, 56, of Michael Drive, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2002, at home after a 14-month illness.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Beulah United Church of Christ, where he was a member, by the Rev. Bruce Updyke. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Mize was born April 9, 1945, in Davidson County to William James Mize and Alma Inez Michael Mize. He was an employee of Hill Oil Co. and also served in the National Guard.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Sherry Koonts Mize, of the home; a son, Dockie Lynn Mize, and his wife, Lisa, of Lexington; a granddaughter, Skylar Lynn Mize (His Precious Angel); his mother, Alma Mize Sharpe of Lexington; a brother, Steve Mize, and his wife, Lisa, of Lexington; and a sister, Debbie Jones and her husband, Forrest, of Lexington.
