Shawn Martin Hughes, 17, of Hinckley, IL passed on Saturday, September 16, 2006 at his home. He was born on October 1, 1988 in Aurora, IL, the son of Earl and Theresa (Koehring) Hughes, Jr.
Shawn had just begun his Senior Year at the Hinckley-Big Rock High School in Hinckley, IL. He was a very fun-loving and out-going young man, who enjoyed nothing more than riding on his four-wheeler and on his dirt bike. He just recently had his Senior picture taken on his dirt bike. Shawn also attended Indian Valley Vocational Center in Sandwich, IL and was enrolled in its Law Enforcement Program. Shawn was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his parents, Earl and Theresa Hughes of Hinckley, IL; his sister, Ashley Hughes of Hinckley, IL; his maternal grandmother, Pat (Lloyd) Hanson of Sheridan, IL; his paternal grandfather, Earl (Peggy) Hughes, Sr. of Aurora, IL; his aunts and uncles, Tim (Karen) Koehring of West Chicago, IL, Jim (Julie) Koehring of West Chicago, IL, Gary (Janet) Koehring of Kaneville, IL, Pam (John) Kile of Aurora, IL, Debbie Godwin of Aurora, IL, Dave (Pam) Hughes of Aurora, IL and Taffy Walshon of Florida; as well as many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Martin Koehring; and his paternal grandmother, Betty Deason.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel, 141 N. Maple St., Hinckely, IL with Rev. Jim Allen officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Hinckley, IL.
