Jerry L. Messer, 67, passed away February 8, 2016 at his home in Carthage.

Jerry was born September 17, 1948 in Neosho, MO to Ida Belle “Jennings” Messer and Troy Lee Messer.

Jerry was a long time Carthage area resident.
Jerry was a Sheet Metal Worker and belonged to the Sheet Metal Workers International Association local union # 36 for the last 39 years. After retirement he drove a school bus for Joplin and Webb City Schools.
Jerry was a member of the Prosperity Apostolic Faith Church of Carthage.

Jerry was united in marriage to Sherrie Hartman December 16, 1995 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, she survives.

Jerry is survived by two sons, one daughter, and two step-daughters and one sister.
Twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Jerry is preceded by three brothers Oscar “Bill” Bryant and two in infancy.
The family would like to thank Regional Hospice and all those who gave special love and attention to Jerry. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday February 13, 2016 at Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ulmer Funeral Home.
