Funeral services for Angelia Paulette Smith Cooper, 66, Floyds Knobs, will be at noon Friday, Feb. 12, at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany, with private entombment in the Garden of Angels Mausoleum at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. She died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, at Norton Pavilion, Louisville.
She was born June 29, 1949, in Louisville, to the late Paul L. and Beatrice Woodcox Smith and was the wife for 46 years of Richard Cooper. Paulette was a 1967 graduate of Ahrens Trade High School and a Kentucky-Indiana Cheerleading All Star in 1967. She was an active member of the Community of Christ and worked for many years as a Special Education Instructional Assistant with the New Albany-Floyd County School System. Paulette was amazing at decorating, crafting and writing. She loved reading and studying the Scriptures and most of all loved her family and friends. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Richard W. Cooper; daughter, Rhonda Lynnette Renfrow; son, Jeremy Wayne Cooper and wife, JoAnne; four grandchildren, Kelsie, Abigail, Memphis and Maddyn; sister, Carrol Lane Roth and many nieces and nephews.
Vsitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hosparus or the Glenn Wood Hills Campground in care of the family.
