ENOREE - Russell B. Sumner, 65 of 4 Perry Street, died in a Spartanburg hospital at 11:45 pm Wednesday after a brief illness.

Member of Enoree Baptist Church and Barney Gossett Men's Bible Class; Member of Enoree Masonic Lodge #222; Retired employee of Inman Mills, Ramey Plant- Enoree; Son of the late B.P. and Leila McCravy Sumner.

Surviving: Wife, Mrs. Pearl Waddell Sumner of the home; Sons Ray and Donald of Enoree and Staff Sgt. Robert H. Sumner of Whitman AFB, Missouri; Daughters, Mrs. James Whitmire of Duncan and Mrs C.L. James of Easley; Brother, Jimmy Sumner of Clinton; Sister, Mrs. Eula Mae Rushton of Clinton, Mrs. Mary Brown, Mrs. Ruby Pouwar, Mrs. Frankie Cassels and Mrs. Frances Carr of Columbia and Mrs. Ruth Scher of Washington, DC; eight grandchildren.

Services: 4 pm at Enoree Baptist Church by Revs. Harvey Johnson, and JL Passailaigue and R.L. McGaha; burial at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens with full masonic rites.
Body is at The Lanford-Boyter Mortuary; in church at 3. Pallbearers: Lewis Taylor, Fred Tindall, Rodney Blanton, Hildred Hughes, Hugh McCarley, Jack Owens, Ott Gentry and Charles Lawrence.

Family is at the home of a son Ray, No. 1 Waldrop Street, Enoree.
