Mrs. Janet Sue (Bailey) Barnard age 63 of New Tazewell, TN was born November 23, 1952 and passed away February 7, 2016 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Janet was saved at the age of 8 years old and was a faithful member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Tazewell, TN where she currently served as Sunday School Teacher of the adult class, a calling which was near and dear to her heart. Janet was employed 38 years by the Claiborne County School System where she served as first grade teacher, principal, and system-wide supervisor.

She is preceded in death by her:

Paternal Grandparents: James A. and Etta Bailey of Tazewell, TN
Special Aunt: Ruth Bailey of Tazewell, TN
Maternal Grandparents: Nathaniel and Beulah Barton of Middlesboro, KY
Mother-in-Law and Father-in-Law: Donnie Lee and Cecil Barnard of Tazewell, TN

She received excellent medical care from Dr. Allen Hemming of UCSD, San Diego, CA, Dr. Robert Wilmoth and Dr. Brent Neal of Tazewell, TN, Dr. Richard Lee and Dr. Nilesh Patel of Baker Cancer Treatment Center; Dr. Ramanajam Samovedyah of UT Medical Center, and Suncrest Home Health.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 9, 2016 from 6PM till 8PM at Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 11AM at Pleasant View Baptist Church with the Rev. John Hall, the Rev. John Lewis, the Rev. Paul Collingsworth and the Rev. Adam Collingsworth officiating. Music will be provided by Pleasant View Baptist Church Choir, Rebecca Duncan Beck, Leah and Bob Holmes, Kevin Creech the Collingsworth Family and the Pleasant View Youth Choir.
Burial will follow in the Campbell Cemetery, 473 Campbell Cemetery Lane, Tazewell, TN 37879.
