Iva Mae Offield Harris, 91, of China Spring, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, February 12, prior to the 2 p.m., funeral services at OakCrest Funeral Home, with Pastor Paul Krupicka officiating. Burial will follow in China Spring Cemetery.

Iva was born in Cameron, Texas, and grew up in Rogers, Texas, where she met William Vernon "Bill" Harris. They married on August 12, 1942. After their marriage Bill immediately left for the east coast and Iva followed. During World War II, Bill proudly served in the Merchant Marine and U.S. Navy. Afterwards he worked at General Tire in Waco until the early 1970s when he became a partner in Bunn & Harris Tire Company in downtown Waco. Later, he and Iva became the sole owners and operated the business as Bill Harris General Tire Co. with Iva as office manager until the 1990s when Bill retired.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, William Vernon Harris; son, William Charles Harris; an infant daughter, Doris Ellen; and her mother, Mae Offield.

Survivors include her grandchildren, William Harris and wife, Jamie, and Rebekah Creamer and husband, Sam; great-grandchildren: Emily Harris, William Andrew Harris, Lillianna Creamer, and Gabriella Creamer; daughter-in-law, Edna Howland and husband, David; sister-in-law, Ruby Harris; other relatives and many friends.
