Jeanne M. Gassert (Nee Constantin) of Grafton, WI was born to eternal life peacefully at home surrounded by her family on February 7, 2016 at the age of 66.
Jeanne was born September 20, 1949 in South Bend, Indiana. She spent the first 16 years of her life in Clark New Jersey, where she attended Mother Seton High School. In 1965, she and her family relocated to Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, where she attended and graduated from Dominican High School. She furthered her education at Marquette University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Jeanne married her college sweetheart John in 1971.

Although Jeanne received her education in nursing, her true passion was her art. She had received art lessons in New Jersey where she earned ribbons for her exceptional work. After taking a number of years away from it, she chose to pursue her true passion and revitalized her art career in the early 90’s. Her preferred medium was oils, and her first passion was portrait work, though her body of work also includes exceptional still life and landscape works. While not well known, there are few who exceed the quality of her work. She particularly loved plein air painting and Door County, Wisconsin was one of her favorite places to paint and visit.
Jeanne is survived by John Gassert, her husband of 44 years and her best friend and her partner of 48 years. She was the dear mother of Jennifer (Joseph) Keith and beloved Grandmother of Cora and Mark Keith. She is survived by her mother, Jane Constantin of Mequon, WI, sister Judith (Brian) Halstead of Lincoln Nebraska, and her Aunt Jeanne Maviel of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. She is further survived by her sisters-in-law Charlene Vargo of Milwaukee, WI and Cecilia Allison of Oconomowoc, WI and brothers-in-law Jerome (Carol) Gassert of Menomonie, WI, Charles (Marlyn) Gassert of Cedarburg, WI, Richard (Janelle) Gassert of Brookfield, WI, and Daniel Gassert of Wauwatosa, WI. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Jeanne was preceded in death by her father James Constantin, and her brother Jeffrey Constantin.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Jeanne will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 – 1:00 P< at Saint Francis Borgia North Catholic Church 1375 Covered Bridge Rd. Cedarburg Wisconsin. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Grafton. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 11:00 AM – 12:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Advocates of Ozaukee, Riveredge Nature Center, or Bookworm Gardens in Sheboygan would be appreciated.
