Gayle Louise Jenkins, 64, of Mt. Vernon, died 9:55 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Monday, Dec. 3, 1951 in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of Gale Eugene and Ruth Evelyn (Cline) Beck. She married William Robert Jenkins on July 17, 2009 in Mt. Vernon.
She is survived by her husband, William Robert Jenkins of Mt. Vernon; three brothers, Allen Beck and wife Pamela of Plainview, Illinois, Douglas Beck and wife Rebecca of Carlinville, Illinois, and Donald Beck and wife Christine of Plainview, Illinois; son, Leon Wayne Conner; several grandchildren including granddaughter Cassandra Ramel and husband Ryan Kerst of Rochester, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Pastor Matt Robbins officiating. Visitation will precede funeral services at 12:30 p.m. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
Gayle was an I and A Specialist for Swan Senior Services in Mt. Vernon and was of the Christian Faith. She liked to sew, crochet, basket weave and cook.
