DEATH NOTICE: The Manti Messenger, Friday 31 May 1912:

Injury Proves Fatal

Mr. Ed Cadwell who was injured last Friday morning about 8 o'clock died the same day. He had his wagon loaded with lumber when a stick fell off the load striking one of the horses and the team started running; in an effort to stop them he was knocked down and one of the horses stepped on his head and one of the wagon wheels struck his head, breaking his neck. He lived about seven hours and was conscious till the last. Sunday the remains were taken to Salt Lake for burial.

Mr. Cadwell was a native of Wisconsin but had lived in Utah 23 years. He buried his wife in Salt Lake 22 years ago. He leaves a daughter in Salt Lake, one in this city, Mrs. A. L. Bowden, and a son in Huron, S. D. He was 70 years old last September.

The Manti Messenger, Friday 31 May 1912:
Mr. Edwin Cadwell's funeral was held in Salt Lake Monday, 2 p.m. at the parlors of undertaker Hall. Rev. Peter Simkins conducted the services in his most sympathetic manner. A friend, Mr. Lee of Tooele, was present and sang two or three hymns. Interment was at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
