Sandy Burnett of Vancouver, WA, peacefully passed away Oct. 23, 2011, surrounded by her family. She was born Dec. 30, 1941 to Charles E. "Chuck" and Elizabeth "Betty" A. Johnson in Walla Walla, WA. She moved to Vancouver in 1956 with her family.
Sandy met and married Ernie Gray in 1958 and celebrated the births of their children, Tammy, Lori, Marci, Ernie "EB" and Tracy.
After their divorce, she married Gene Burnett in 1982 and lived in the Salmon Creek area of Vancouver for their 30 years of marriage.
During her 69 years of life, Sandy enjoyed many hobbies: camping, the beach, bowling, singing, skating, attending family reunions, and most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Gene Burnett; daughters, Marci Gray of Vancouver, Lori Lopez and husband Antonio of Portland, OR, Tracy Busch and husband Mike of Spokane, WA; son, Ernie "EB" and wife Rhonda of Chicago, Il; two step-sons, Michael Burnett and wife Donna and Brian Burnett; sister, Janell Crumpacker and husband Jerry of Olympia, WA; brothers, Charlie Johnson and wife Terri of Vancouver, and Neal Johnson and wife Georgia of Camas, WA; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Pacheco; step-son, Mark Burnett; and her parents, Chuck and Betty Johnson.
A celebration of Sandy's life will be held Nov. 5th, 2011 1:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. at the American Legion Smith-Reynolds Post #14, 4607 St. James Rd., Vancouver, WA. Following the Celebration of Life, there will be an extended gathering at Chronis', 9th and Main Streets, Vancouver, WA for those that would like to attend.
