Sherley Edward Abbott, 74 of Nortonville, passed away on February 6, 2016, at his home. He was born July 29, 1941, to the late Charles and Irene Hill Abbott of Nortonville. Sherley was a Marine veteran, and he later retired from Peabody Coal.
Sherley is also preceded in death by his wife, Janice Gamblin Abbott; one brother, Glenn Abbott; and two sisters, Barbara Gamblin and Martha Abbott.
Survived by two sons, Vince Abbott of FL, and Trent (Angela) Abbott of Nortonville; five grandchildren, Trina Abbott, Kimberly Crafton, Keri Abbott, Kala Abbott, and Jessie Brasher; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Barry (Michelle) Abbott of Nortonville; and one sister, Helen Hunt of Madisonville.
Services will be Tuesday, February 9, at Bandy Funeral Home at 1:00pm with Bro. John Shoulta officiating. Burial will immediately follow in New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville.
