Franklin Edward Ackerman, age 63 of Durand, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 6, 2016. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in the spring at his home, out by the lake.

Frank was born on February 24, 1952 in Durand to the late Clarence Edward and Joyce Magdelyn (McCarthy) Ackerman. He graduated from Durand High School in 1970 and married Teresa Evonne Newman on October 20, 1973 at the Gaines United Methodist Church. Frank sold tires for outdoor power equipment all of his life. Frank loved to write his own music and poetry. His grandchildren called him corn pop because of the jokes he told, he loved time spent with his family and on the water in his sisters boat, Carpe Diem. Frank was a God fearing man and always read his bible.

Mr. Ackerman is survived by, his wife Teresa, sons; Frank (Teresa Black) Ackerman, and Benjamin (Rachel Mailhot) Ackerman, daughters; Aubrey (Kevin Gibson) Ackerman and Caryn (Andrew) Kalafatis. Grandchildren; Erica, Alison, Gaven, Dylan, Levi, Camryn, Alex, Trent, Max, and his sister Carolyn Spicer, also his faithful companion Kitty the dog.

He was predeceased by both of his parents, sisters; Jean Ann Austin and Joyce Rodgers.
