Mr. Robert Fenrick Adcock, Jr., 97, passed away Friday afternoon, February 05, 2016 at the Hock Pavilion in Durham, NC. He was born August 04, 1918 in Durham County, to the late Robert Adcock, Sr. and Alma Drake Adcock.

Before entering the service, he trained civilian pilots. During WWII, Robert honorably served as a 1st Lt. in the Army Air Corps flying transports in North Africa and Europe. After the war, Robert would help his father operate Adcock Barbecue, Brunswick stew and Barbecue chicken that would eventually become Adcock Brothers Canary until closing in 1974.

At that time, Mr. Adcock entered the ministry and spent more than 40 years as a minister and evangelist. He was married 68 years to the former Ruby Long, until her death May 1, 2009.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Adcock was preceded in death by his son, Drake Braxton Adcock; his daughter, Sandra Olive Taylor and a brother, Jack Wilkerson Adcock.

Survivors include his sons, Timothy Drake Adcock and his wife, Teresa, and Paul Sidney Adcock, both of Bahama, NC; his three grandchildren, Katrina Paschall, Adam Adcock and Jamie Adcock; and his three great-grandchildren, Skylar Paschall, Kelsey Handy and Sawyer Adcock.

Burial will be 1:00PM, Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Maplewood Cemetery in Durham, NC.
