Sister entered the Congregation in 1944, and after teaching in Michigan and Ohio for several years was assigned to Villa Nazareth orphanage in Rome, Italy. She later became the Mother Superior at the orphanage.
In June 1960 she became quite ill and was taken to Salvator Mundi Hospital where she died a month later. Shortly before she lost consciousness, Cardinal Domenico Tardini, the Secretary of State to Pope John XXIII, visited her and imparted the Apostolic Blessing.
After her death, visitation and prayers were held in the chapel of the hospital, before her remains were transported back to the Motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity for a Mass of Christian Burial.
