Inez Wray Lemons, 91, passed away on Saturday February 6, 2016, at her home.
Mrs. Lemon's funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, at Gideon Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Wanda Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A Guilford County native, Inez was born on August 9, 1924, the daughter of the late John Henry and Mamie Friddle Wray. She was a long-time and active member of Gideon Grove United Methodist Church, a member of the church choir and United Methodist Women, and served as church secretary. She first worked for Southern Electric Company. She retired from Guilford County Schools where she served as secretary at Stokesdale Elementary for nearly thirty years.
Surviving are her son Gerald G. Lemons along with numerous loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Wesley Lemons, in 2009, brother Robert Wray, and sisters Myrtle Thomas, Christine Sheffield, Treva Crayton and Maxine Parrish.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Forbis & Dick - Stokesdale, and other times at the home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Cemetery Fund at Gideon Grove United Methodist Church, PO Box 444, Stokesdale, NC 27357 or Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.
