Violinist. Born in France and a child prodigy, Camilla Urso became one of the most popular and respected violinists in the United States, at a time when it wasn't considered a respectable instrument for women. She played with both the Boston Philharmonic Society and the New York Philharmonic in the 1860s, and toured extensively around the world.
