Gladston "Dean" Butler age 87 of Dacula passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Hebron Baptist Church, Dacula, with Rev. Larry Wynn officiating. Burial will follow at Gwinnett Memorial Park, Lawrenceville. Mr. Butler was a US Navy, WWII veteran. He retired from General Motors with 32 years of service on the assembly line. He was a member of the UAW, enjoyed woodworking. Mr. Butler was a member of Hebron Baptist Church since 1961, where he taught the "Young at Heart" Sunday School Class for 35 years. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Butler Cofer and granddaughter, Kristen Renee Butler. He is survived by his Wife: Katherine Butler; Children: Patricia & Charles Brooks; Jerry & Sherry Butler, all of Dacula; Teresa & David Strickland, Lawrenceville; Jackie & Lynette Butler, Auburn; Son-in-law: Harold Cofer, also of Dacula; Brothers: Dallas Butler; Clifford Butler, Jr.; Sisters: Elizabeth "Betty" Moody; Frances Ayers; Ruth Ethridge; 9 Grandchildren: 6 Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces & Nephews.
