John Willard Eggleston, son of Hardin Eggleston and Fannie E. Gregory. He was born ca.1901 in the Reed Creek section of Henry County, Va.
14 August 1924 he married Virginia Ethel Dunn, daughter of Watt Alvis Dunn and Louella Boaz of Henry County, Va.

John Eggleston, 35, of Leaksville, N.C., son of the late Harden Eggleston of Figsboro, Va., died in a Leaksville hospital Friday as a result of injuries when hit by an automobile Thursday on the Ridgeway-Leaksville highway. He was struck by a car driven by A. E. Franklin of Philpott, Va.
Eggleston and his six year old son, Billie, were in a truck driven by Thomas Smith. Eggleston was in a stooped position trying to straighten a wheel when he was struck.
