Jessie Pearl Phillips, 97, of Keosauqua died at 7:20 P.M. Saturday January 16, 2016 at Keosauqua Health Care Center (formerly Good Samaritan Center) where she had resided since December, 2013 and received excellent care.

She was born June 5, 1918 near Tracy, Marion County, Iowa to Joseph and Flora Shilling Graham and married LaVerne A. Phillips January 12, 1936 in Des Moines. He died March 9, 1996.

They farmed in the Winchester community between Birmingham and Stockport until retiring to Keosauqua in 1993. She was a farm homemaker and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are two sons, Robert Phillips (Bev) of Boone and Daniel Phillips (Stacey Heckart) of Keosauqua, two daughters, Karen Workman (Richard) of Keosauqua and Mildred Gerling (Allan) of Wheeling, West Virginia, eight granddaughters, eight great-grandsons, five great-granddaughters, a great-great-grandson, a great-great-granddaughter, a sister, Eliza Crozier of Knoxville, a special family member, Cecelia Novoa Plazelles of Keosauqua, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by three sisters, Nell and Ona Barnett and June Graham and five brothers, Clark Shilling, Buell, Marsh and Melvin Graham and Albert Graham in infancy and a granddaughter, Debra Skinner

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday January 20, 2016 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua with Pastor Mark Clark officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
