Civil War Veteran: Enlisted on 1/27/1864 as a Private. He mustered into Co. "E" 13th Indiana Cavalry. He died of a disease on June 21, 1865 in the barracks at New Orleans, Louisiana, a couple months after the war had ended. His remains were placed in the National Cemetery vs shipped back to his family in Indiana.
