FOREMAN – Donald L., 79, Jacksonville, N.C., died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014, at home. He retired in 1975 from the U.S. Marine Corps after 21 years of service as a master gunnery sergeant. Member of Brookwood Baptist Church. Life member of Marine Corps League, Veterans of America, American Legion, DAV and VFW Post Twin Rocks. Preceded in death by first wife of 42 years, Betty Mae (Davis) Foreman; second wife, Mary Rachel (Baker) Foreman; son, Ricky A. Foreman; parents, Samuel E. and Helen L. Foreman; and sisters, Gertrude Stokes and Charlotte Atwine. Survivors include his third wife, Susan Parker Foreman, at home; son, Mark Foreman, and wife, Susan, Jacksonville, N.C.; daughter, Kimberly Singleton, and husband, Donald, Bowling Green, Ky.; sister, Iris Wells, and husband, Clyde; brother, Samuel Foreman Jr., and wife, Phylis; sister, Barbara Emerson, and husband, William; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and stepsons, Russell and Paul Prince, Sneads Ferry, N.C.; Jon Prince, Jacksonville, N.C.; and Ron Prince, Richlands, N.C. Celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Brookwood Baptist Church, the Rev. Richard Beacham, officiating. Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, with military honors by local veterans organizations. Burial, Belsano Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Brookwood Baptist Church, 903 Henderson Drive, Jacksonville, N.C. 28540.
