Maurice F. Williamson, 76, of Hidden Valley at Chapmanville, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington.
Born May 21, 1937, in Red Jacket, he was a son of the late James Amos and Golda Williamson.
Maurice graduated from the John A. Gupton School of Mortuary Science of Nashville, Tenn., in 1964. He worked several years at Ball Funeral Home and Chafin Funeral Home. In September of 1979, he came to work at James Funeral Home where he touched many lives and helped numerous families. He retired from James Funeral Home after 33 years in September of 2012.
Left behind is his wife of 50 years, Brenda Williamson; daughter, Meshelle (Paris) Brewer; two grandsons, Zacharie K. (Kelly) Blackburn and Anthony S. (Billie Jo) Blackburn, and a granddaughter, Kacee Musick; three great-grandsons, Austin, Mason and Eli Blackburn; two sisters, Darlene (Ed) Fox and Bonnie (Ed) Tomblin, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, September 1, at Calvary Baptist Church on Airport Road with the Pastor John Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at James Funeral Home Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Tomblin, Ed Fox, Eddie Hunter, Butch Duty, Dennis Lewis and Dickie Taylor.
