He is the beloved husband of Rita and the late Stephanie. Father of Arthur Newcomb and John Newcomb and his wife Judy. Stepfather of Francis Raddi. Grandfather of Jaclyn, Brooks, Katie, Timothy Newcomb. Brother of Ruth Atwell and her husband the late Allan.
Chalie served in the United States Navy from January of 1944 until May of 1946 and was proud of his service. He served at NTS Sampson, New York, NTS Norfolk, Virginia, and on the USS Altair (AD 11). His decorations included Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, and Victory Medal. He was a life member of Horsham VFW post 9788. Chalie was an avid golfer in his leisure time. During his working years, Chalie was the owner of C & L Rivet Co. based in Hatboro, PA; a business which has been passed on to his sons Art and John.
Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Thursday, November 17, 2011 from 9:00 A.M. and funeral service on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Wayside Chapel of Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Prospectville, PA 19002. Military honors rendered by the United States Navy and his graveside service followed in the cemetery.
