Arlene V. Sanders, age 88, of Lindenhurst, Illinois, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2008 at Condell Medical Center in Libertville, Illinois.

Born on February 7, 1920 at Moville, Iowa, she was raised in Glidden and a former resident of Waterloo, Iowa, and Coon Rapids, Minnesota. Arlene and her husband retired to Pharr, Texas and have lived in Lindenhurst for the past 7 years. She was a former operator for the telephone company in Glidden, employee of the credit bureau in Waterloo and was the school secretary in Anoka County, Minnesota. Arlene enjoyed playing the piano, crafts, needlework and her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband A. Dallas Sanders on April 15, 2007, by her sisters Lorraine and Norma and by her brother Everett Stutzman Jr.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden with Rev. Chad Jennings of the First United Methodist Church of Glidden officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden.
