Freda Pierce, 92, of Bonnie, went to be with her Lord Wednesday morning, Feb. 3, 2016, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Jefferson County on Aug. 1, 1923, the daughter of John and Ida (Irvin) Eldridge. She married Vincel L. Pierce on Dec. 23, 1943, in Jefferson County; he preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 1998. Mrs. Pierce was a member of Moore's Prairie Baptist Church. Mrs. Piece is survived by her daughter, Sue Beaty of Bonnie; eight grandchildren, Brian Beaty of Bonnie, Brad Beaty and wife Kathy of Bonnie, Lori Allen and husband Brad of Bonnie, Lisa Harrington and husband Tracy of Sumter, S.C., Tommy Pierce and wife Stephanie of Ina, Jason Pierce of Bonnie, Becky Fuller of Mt. Vernon and Christie Fuller of Mt. Vernon; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ava Frailey of Mt. Vernon; son-in-law, Robert Kramm of West Frankfort; daughter-in-law, Karen Pierce Allen of Bonnie; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Pierce was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, David Pierce ; daughter, Brenda Kramm; brother, Charles Eldridge; sister, Lorene Modlin; and two brothers-in-law, Fred Modlin and Paul Frailey. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Johnston Funeral Home in Ina with Joe Bob Pierce officiating. Burial will be in the Knowles Cemetery in Bonnie. There will be no visitation.
