Her parents were Matilda Colbert and William Stewart. She was of Chickasaw and Choctaw descent and an enrolled member of the Choctaw Nation.

She was married to Robert Lee Pierce (15 Jun 1834--3 Mar 1879, who was the son of Zadock Pierce and his wife, Nancy Sakes Pierce of Independence County, Arkansas.

I have notes from a descendant that indicates they are buried at the Pierce Cemetery near present day Soper, Oklahoma.
