Joseph C. Jones was a graduate of the University of Michigan (Literary Dept.,1872).
"Joseph Comstock Jones, A.B., died at his home in Chicago, April 14, 1897, aged 56. Immediately after graduation he became Superintendent of Schools at Pontiac, Mich., and after five years' service was called to a like position at East Saginaw. Here he won for himself a prominent place in the educational work of the State. Later, he was called to take charge of the educational department of the great house of Harper & Brothers, New York, where he remained for some years. He then turned to public school work for a short time, and finally became associated in business with the Werner Book Company, where he continued to the time of his death. Burial at the old home of his family, Adrian, Mich."
