Lyle was a World War II Army veteran. He retired from the Bureau of Indian Affairs in 1982 and began his own construction company. He was a member of the Lovedale Baptist Church where he was music director and deacon.. He loved singing Gospel music, golf, athletic events, wood carving and spending time with his family. He was very active in the building program of Lovedale Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday February 7 at Lovedale Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Farmer, Rev. J. D. Grant, and Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Appalachian Funeral Services.
