Laura married Roy Julian Gordon on December 11, 1954. They moved to Clinton Missouri and started their family eventually moving to Gladstone Missouri. Laura was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy; sister Ofelia Mendez, brother Enrique Mendez jr., son Bruce Gordon, and son Roy Gordon jr.
Laura is survived by daughter Darless Collins and her husband Don Spencer of Gainesville Texas, daughter Laurie Grossman and her husband David Grossman, of Kansas City Missouri; son Brian Gordon of Leavenworth Kansas; brother Hector Mendez of Laredo Texas; brother and sister-in-law,Oscar and Gloria Mendez of Helotes Texas; sister and brother-in-law,Sylvia and Pete Brightenback of Rount Rock Texas; sister and brother-in-law,Isabel Mendez of Laredo Texas; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Laura enjoyed gardening, reading and travel. She especially loved her Hispanic culture often cooking the foods of her childhood. Laura's ashes will be intered at the White Chapel Funeral Home in Gladstone Missouri, next to her husband. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice. No services will be held at Laura's request.
