Anthony “Tony” M. Bongers, age 70, of Faribault, died unexpectedly on Thursday, February 4, 2016 in Faribault.

Memorial services will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. with Christine Sorensen officiating.

Interment at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault.

A memorial visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and also for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Tony, the son of Henry and Josephine (Reichert) Bongers, was born on September 23, 1945 in Faribault. Tony graduated from Faribault High School in 1963 and also from South Central Technical College, Faribault, as a journeyman sheet metal worker. He married Carole Ann Harn on August 28, 1965 in Faribault. She preceded him in death on December 6, 2009. He farmed with his father for many years in the Cannon City Township area and was also employed by Lockerby Sheet Metal, Faribault. Tony enjoyed the outdoors – he loved to hunt and fish, and also was an avid reader.

He is survived by four children, Tammie Bongers (and Dan Moravec) of Faribault, Troy Bongers (and Kelly Darling) of Faribault, Traci (and Mark) Thieding of Lonsdale and Chris Bongers of Faribault; eight grandchildren, Joseph Moravec, Lexa, Holly, Lucan and Shiloh Bongers, Araya Crombie, Alexander and Maximilian Thieding; one brother, Ken (and Bonita) Bongers of Faribault; one sister in law, Jeannine Bongers of Faribault and one brother in law, Larry (and Jeanne Taylor) Harn of Faribault.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, William and John Bongers; his mother and father-in-law, Celia and David Harn; and one brother-in-law, Robert Harn.
