Mildred F. "Milly" was living in the home of her daughter Mary Elizabeth Buxton Harrison, wife of George Washington Harrison, at the time of her death. On the night of August 4, 1872 their home had become in gulfed in flames and Mrs. Mildred Buxton did not make it out. Her burned remains were buried in the family cemetery on August 5, 1872. Mr. George Washington Harrison also lost his young brother Eddie Harrison in that same tragic fire.
