Mildred Lacy Howell
Mildred Lacy Howell, 82, of Rocky Mount, previously of Bedford, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014, at Trinity Missions Health and Rehab.
Mildred was born on December 29, 1932, in Bedford County, a daughter of the late John Frank Lacy and Gracie Padgett Lacy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, A. Barry Howell; sisters, Pearl, Helen, Mazie, Lelia and Audrey; and brothers, Leon, Dillard and Theodore.
Mildred was a loving mother, sister and friend who enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen H. Mann; two sons, Christopher A. Howell and Tony L. Howell; two brothers, Carlton Lacy and Aubrey Lacy; two very special friends, Peggy Dooley Key and Helen Key Arrington; also numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other friends.
A graveside service and celebration of her life will be conducted at 12 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2015, at Timber Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Donnie G. Glass officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., also on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Tharp Funeral Chapel in Bedford.
