Memorial service for Dennis Wayne Kelley, age 71 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2015 in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Johnny Tims will officiate.
Dennis Wayne was born the son of Ed Leonard Kelley and Georgia H. Nichols Kelley on February 1, 1944 in Richmond, California. He died on September 1, 2015 at his home.
Dennis grew up in Oklahoma and moved back to California as a teenager. He met the love of his life, Mary LaVerne Powell whom he married on January 22, 1972 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They began a family and later moved to Stilwell, Oklahoma in 1976. Dennis and his family then moved to Chickasha where he had lived for twenty-eight years. He worked as a mechanic for Charles Allen Ford. In his spare time, he loved to garden and fish. He was also a huge NASCAR fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Georgia Kelley; wife Mary LaVerne Kelley; son Darren Hugh Kelley; son Jimmy Ray Luke; grandson David Allen Auffet; granddaughter Tabitha Nichole Sam.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Rick Dougherty of Pryor; daughter Vikki Luke of Chickasha; daughter and son-in-law Machelle and Ronny Sam of Chickasha; son David H. Luke of Oklahoma City; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister Lois Pershall of Stilwell; sister June Campbell of Oologah.
