BURLEY – Dorothy Helen Bell Peck was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Wednesday, December 19, 1917, to William A. and Stella Mae Bell.

She died peacefully on Thursday, February 4, 2016, in Twin Falls, with her children by her side.

She married Jared Darrell Peck on the Fourth of July, 1937, in Declo, Idaho. Four children were born to this union: Darrell David, Sandra Diane, Jerry Duane and Jeffrey Dean.

She attended school in Twin Falls, and continued on to Albion State Normal College, where she met the love of her life. Over the years they lived in Twin Falls, Moses Lake, WA and St. Anthony, before finally settling in Burley in 1957.

She and Darrell traveled around the country attending horse races. In addition to this, she found the time to work as secretary for the Farm Bureau Insurance Company for many years. She loved to bowl and went to many bowling tournaments.

She and Darrell spent many years as snowbirds, going south during the winter. They also worked at Little Redfish Lake, in Stanley, where she was the bookkeeper, and Darrell spent his time fishing and serving as the camp host.

She also spent many hours on her passion of oil paintings, and sold many pictures to people all over the country. She won a number of ribbons for her paintings at the Cassia County Fair.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years; her parents; her brother; her sister; a son-in-law; a granddaughter-in-law; and a great-grandson.
